DIMENSIONS has significantly influenced the intellectual property landscape at both academic and governmental levels in the region. Our lead consultant, Hams Madanat, as a committee member for the Scientific Research Fund under the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was instrumental in drafting IP regulations for the Fund and creating a model IP Policy tailored for Jordanian universities. This policy provides institutions with a robust framework for managing and protecting intellectual property. Additionally, Hams prepared detailed manuals and conducted awareness and training sessions to introduce these regulations and policies to universities.

Hams Madanat, our lead consultant, served as an international expert in a WIPO-led project in collaboration with the Omani National IP Office. The project focused on enhancing the competitiveness of Omani Frankincense producers through the strategic use of intellectual property tools, particularly geographical indications and branding. By conducting a thorough needs assessment, delivering targeted training and mentorship programs, and creating networking opportunities, Hams helped Omani Frankincense producers leverage IP tools to achieve sustainability and growth.

Our team undertook a comprehensive review and redrafting of the copyright sanctions guidelines for the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP). Based on international best practices and aligned with SAIP’s legal framework, the proposed guidelines aim to simplify and streamline the process of reviewing and issuing sanctions for copyright infringement.

DIMENSIONS contributed to a significant project to reform enforcement procedures at the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP). The initiative included a comprehensive gap analysis to identify deficiencies in the current enforcement procedures, followed by benchmarking against best practices from leading IP offices worldwide. The project also involved a detailed analysis of international indices to ensure that SAIP adopts the most effective and efficient methods.

To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property’s conflict resolution framework, DIMENSIONS embarked on a project to reform the Authority’s conflict resolution policies and procedures. This initiative included benchmarking against best international practices and implementing key components to enhance the Authority’s ability to deliver fair and timely outcomes.

Our lead consultant, Mutasem Dmour, led a transformative project at the Afghanistan National IP Office aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of intellectual property management. The project involved a thorough review of governing laws and regulations, the redesign of procedures, and the implementation of an electronic filing system to facilitate easier and more accurate submissions, tracking, and management of IP applications.

Mutasem Dmour, in a previous capacity, led a unique project designed to train the heads of Jordanian courts to enhance their administrative capabilities. The initiative focused on improving the skills of court staff and equipping court leaders with the knowledge required to manage court operations effectively. The project involved comprehensive training programs tailored to the specific needs of court administration, ensuring streamlined and efficient administrative processes.

Mutasem Dmour led a project aimed at accelerating the trademark examination process at the UAE Intellectual Property Office. This initiative focused on enhancing the efficiency and speed of the trademark examination process by reengineering existing procedures, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, and providing the IP office with trained trademark examiners on an ad hoc basis to address the backlog of applications, ensuring timely review and processing of pending trademarks.
